General Manager - New Restaurant Opening
We’re looking for a dynamic and ambitious Restaurant General Manager to launch and run an exciting brand-new restaurant and bar in the heart of the City.
The concept will be steak-led with a focus on quality ingredients, an informal relaxed restaurant approach and will also feature a contemporary cocktail bar.
This is a fantastic opportunity to set up and run from scratch a completely new restaurant turning over in excess of £2 million. In addition to ensuring the operation delivers consistently good food and service and achieves its sales targets, the role involves developing relationships with existing and potential clients to make the restaurant a central hub for the local business community. You’ll also be responsible for recruiting, leading and developing the team to ensure these objectives are met.
With a passion for food and service, the successful General Manager will be charismatic and a natural with guests. You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. The ideal candidate will be both hands-on and strategic – the type of person who values every single guest down to the last to leave, who also has the skills and vision to lead and develop their team and embed a culture focused on delivering a consistently great service and experience to remember . You’ll have an entrepreneurial, innovative mind-set as well as the knowledge and ideas to drive the business forward.
In the role of General Manager, you’ll be a natural leader and will already have a good few years’ experience as a GM gained in busy, high-volume restaurant environments. You’ll thrive on balancing strategic planning with thinking on your feet. You’ll also have a proven track record of commercial results with the ability to deliver revenue targets. Previous experience of a new restaurant opening would also be a distinct advantage.
