Head of Finance – Red Oak Taverns Limited

The Role:

An exciting opportunity for a senior accountant with a real estate/pub company background and c.10-15 years post qualification experience to join an entrepreneurial, well-capitalised and acquisitive pub company and to recruit and mould their own team. Reporting to the Executive Board, this is a senior position that has the scope to expand as the group grows.

The Company:

Red Oak Taverns is a national pub company that owns 165 freehold pubs. Formed in 2011, Red Oak Taverns is predominantly a leased and tenanted operator, although the group also operates managed and franchised models.

The group also operates our own residential development company, Bath & Stratford Homes Limited.

Currently outsourced and, as part of our growth strategy, the group now have a requirement to bring finance and property administration disciplines “in-house”.

  • Establishment of new office and recruitment of team (5-6 staff) to provide:
  • Management and financial reporting and control including preparation of monthly management accounts, KPI analysis and variance analysis
  • Credit control and sales ledger management
  • Purchase ledger
  • Telesales
  • Cash collection and bank account reconciliation
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Property administration and compliance management
  • Payroll for c.40 staff
  • Tax compliance and planning
  • Management of finance and property administration teams
  • Financial systems implementation and information migration from outsourced provider
  • Support to Executive Board in acquisitions activity
  • Support to Business Development Managers
  • Coordination of annual audit with the Group’s auditor.
